The
ROOT CAUSE SOLUTION
Adrenal Stress Index Testing with Hormone Panel Add-On

Much of the hormone cascade occurs in what are know as the “stress glands” of the body, called the adrenals, and yet so much emphasis regarding hormone balance considers only what is essential to replacement hormone therapy.

The steroid hormone cascade starts with cholesterol, and, through a series of enzymatic processes, is converted into both reproductive (fertility) and pain cycle hormones. This is the hormonal basis for either thriving or surviving and gives rise to the classic “fight or flight” response. As Dr Pucci likes to say: You can’t reproduce if you’re dead; meaning, if the body perceives stress negatively it will not prepare itself well to conceive.

At the Pucci Wellness Center we offer a variety of hormone tests based on individual health needs. The Adrenal Stress Index is considered foundational not only because it represents your body’s ability to adequately handle stress, but also because it is also a baseline for leaky gut.

The Adrenal Stress Index can be helpful if you experience:

  • Chronic stress and stress-related health conditions
  • Fatigue or lack of energy
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Irritability or mood swings
  • Insomnia, sleep disturbances or difficulty waking
  • Difficulty losing weight
  • Poor memory or difficulty retaining information
  • Muscle and joint pain or weakness
  • Easy bruising or excessive stretch marks
  • Hypertension
We also offer add-on hormone panels to assess fertility, peri- and post-menopause, andropause, and more complicated “methylation” issues related to estrogen overload.

Here’s a list of the most commonly asked questions regarding hormones and hormone testing:

A blood test reflects the amount of hormone circulating in the blood stream, not what is “bioavailable” to the cell, nor what is being properly distributed throughout the body to the pertinent tissues.

As such, the blood test will indicate “normal” levels when a salivary hormone test will show what is available for use and how well the various levels are balance, or not.

Like the GI Effects test, the Adrenal Stress Index test and related Hormone add-on tests tell us much more about your health and the systems that keep you in balance than does a blood chemistry profile.

Your body has many systems, including detoxification, immune health, and sleep that are all part of what keeps us together and healthy.

Any of the hormone tests we use will help to indicate imbalances where tweaks and adjustments can be made further up or downstream. For instance, any kind of estrogen overload or estrogen dominance might point to a need for detoxification.

Likewise, excessive pain, poor sleep, difficulty losing weight, brain fog, and so forth, are all examples of health concerns that benefit by having a clear picture of how well your body is utilizing and metabolizing hormones.
